In celebration of Juneteenth, we're happy to release our "Black Joy" T-shirt in collaboration with Freedom March NYC, a Black Woman-led protest group at the frontlines of mobilization efforts in New York City non-violently protesting and advocating for policy reform. Led by three young Black women, Columbia University alumnae Chelsea Miller and Nialah Edari and Hampton University student Nia White, Freedom March NYC is mobilizing to become a youth-led civil rights organization for our generation. Along with providing training, as well as supplies, equipment and travel assistance to organizers in NYC and other various other cities, Freedom March has also created The Freedom Fund which awards activists and other organizations in need with grants and funding to help continue the struggle for justice and equality.

Our "Black Joy" tee is a logo flip of the iconic Tommy Boy Record label imprint (originally designed by Steven Miglio and redesigned by Eric Haze in 1989), which was responsible for the release of some of the most important Hip Hop artists and groups of the 80's and 90's including Afrika Bambaataa, De La Soul, Digital Underground and Naughty By Nature. The graphic is meant to reclaim the joy and brilliance of these artists, their work and their contribution to Black culture, which at various times were overlooked and exploited by the record label.

The "Black Joy" T-shirt is printed on Version Tomorrow tees which are made from 60% GRS certified recycled cotton and 40% OCS certified organic cotton.

100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the T-shirt will go back to Freedom March NYC and their Freedom Fund.
